The number of times I've had people with cancer tell me that aside from the cancer they are super healthy because they have a really strong immune. They base this on the fact they rarely get stuff going around such as the flu. Seems logical but it is far from correct.

Understanding illness Symptoms: The Immune Response
Many symptoms we typically associate with "being sick" are actually signs of our immune system actively fighting threats. Understanding this can change how we view and treat illness.
𝐅𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 • The body intentionally raises its temperature to inhibit pathogen reproduction • Elevated temperatures enhance immune cell effectiveness • While uncomfortable, fever is a beneficial defense mechanism • Suppressing fever may provide comfort but could slow healing
𝐅𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐠𝐮𝐞 • Fighting infection requires significant energy • The body prioritizes immune response over regular activities • Energy requirements can increase by up to 40% • Feeling tired is a natural consequence of a healthy immune response
𝐈𝐧𝐟𝐥𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 • Manifests as swelling, redness, and pain • Represents increased blood flow and immune cell activity • Essential for containing and eliminating threats
𝐎𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐈𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐬 • Increased mucus production (pathogen trap) • Coughing and sneezing (pathogen expulsion) • Reduced appetite (energy conservation) • Muscle aches (caused by inflammatory cytokines)
𝐈𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐨𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐬 • Often experience fewer typical illness symptoms • Show reduced inflammatory responses • Face higher risks of serious complications • May lack fever or inflammation • Can mistakenly believe their immune system is strong due to fewer symptoms
Important Considerations: • Symptom suppression (through medications or supplements) may mask rather than solve problems • This includes certain supplements like synthetic Vitamin D and medications like Ivermectin • Any substance that reduces immune response symptoms may hide underlying issues while providing temporary relief
